Cover WIP stuff.

Started playing around with this pretty early on in the project, just to have some sort of idea of how the composition might look & so we could place & work on the title etc. The design of the germans wasn't finalized yet so the ones I used were just place holders.

Germans got updated to have more exaggerated character.

Going for a dark/dated/vintagey sort of feel. Looked up actual pictures of Wawel Castle for reference on colors, used eyedropper to extract color pallete.

Trying to add color harmony throughout the composition, and dynamic angles in order to lead the eye around the composition.
Final cover art, I added a few washes of color tones to balance out the color harmony in the composition. I also added a texture similar to watercolor paper / canvas to recreate the feeling of an old painting. We used a similar texture on much of the art throughout the book in order to carry on this vintage painting aesthetic.
